How to Knit a Cuff or Sock to your Felted Slippers

Pattern used above is my Women's Felted Slipper Pattern with a knitted low cuff

With the yarn you used for your slippers, cut a piece long enough to stitch around the opening of the slipper.

Using a yarn needle, begin stitch around the opening of the slipper, about the same spacing as your knitting (see gauge on pattern)
You can also count the stitches on your slippers before you bind off, this will be the amount you need for cuff or sock.
Using a crochet hook, begin picking up the working yarn for cuff or sock in between stitches.  You will be using the same yarn as you made your slippers with as well as a different yarn to add style and thickness to your cuff  or sock.

Once you pick up about half of the stitches on one side, take your double pointed needles and slide the stitches on to them.

I like to use 4 double pointed needles, so that the stitches are even numbered on each needle, with plenty of space.

For the pattern of the cuff or sock, I use Knit 1 Purl 1.

You will have to make sure that you are able to start with a knit stitch and end with a purl stitch.

If you find that your cuff it too big or sloppy, undo your work until the first row (your picked up stitches)  k2tog even around the opening so that you have decreased to the number stitches you need.

I finish the cuff or sock with 2 rows of Knit and bind off. Sew all your ends. Fold cuff or sock down and tack it in place for clean look.

The above slippers are created using Her Favorite Slipper Felted Knit Pattern.
You can find my felted knit slipper patterns at my Etsy Shop, on Ravelry and at LoveCrafts.
Have fun with your slippers, use colorful yarn, use super chunky yarn.
Leave the sock up so you can fold it down when you want. Enjoy creating your slippers!
